Are You a Church Tornado?

Some time back I read an article in someone’s bulletin with the above title. The question was asked, "Do you ‘blow’ out the door as soon as the ‘amen’ is said?" Doing this might characterize one as a "church tornado."

If one’s house was on fire, or the baby was out in the middle of the street, or a family member had just been carried to the emergency room, we might have an excuse for hurrying away, but otherwise, it might do us good to just stay around for a little while and visit and get to know one another. Sometimes, it is true, there are deadlines to meet and appointments to keep, but not all the time.

Too, there are not only local Christians to be greeted, but strangers and visitors. We need to greet them warmly, and invite them to return. This is especially important because a little friendliness could mean the saving of a soul.

We have a goodly number at Carthage that do a wonderful job greeting others. What a recommendation to all!!!
