I know of many who do not believe what their denomination teaches, yet they continue to be firmly attached to it. The same may be true of Islam. However, the news media's propaganda that the Islamic religion is a peaceable religion taught in their holy books, and that Muslims are taught to fight only in self-defense is blatantly false. Consider the following, taught in the Koran (Quran): "Fighting is prescribed for you" (Sura II. 216) "Those who believe fight in the cause of God," (Sura IV. 76) "Fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)" (Sura IX. 5-13) "Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth" (Sura IX.29) Consider what Jesus and Paul taught: "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered unto the Jews:" (John 18:36) For those who would defend Christ and Christianity with the sword, Jesus said, "For they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." (Matt. 26:52) Paul, in speaking of the spiritual fight in which Christians fight, said, "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)" II Cor. 10:4 Further, have you read of the bloody history of Mohammed? If you have access to a good encyclopedia, you may read about him. It seems to me impossible to be a Muslim and at the same time separate oneself from the man who claimed to be Allah's spokesman. – Max Patterson, 4438 South 89th Road, Bolivar, MO 65613-8012 |
